We realize that you have many things to pay for in college.  With all the expense of books, rent, meals, and not to mention tuition, costs can be overwhelming.  What about illness or injury?  Many people don't think about the high costs of health care while they or their children are away at college.  Some parent's health plans only extend coverage to children up to a certain age while they are full time students and still living at home.  Others have restricted physician and hospital lists that even if coverage is extended to the student, the insurance can be greatly reduced with penalties and limitations as with PPO's.  Even more restrictive plans, such as HMO's, may offer no coverage at all, while outside the coverage region.

Colleges often require health insurance coverage and offer limited coverage plans to fill the gap.  Many of these plans have coverage limits that could still expose you to serious financial risk due to large expenses of health care.
